On To The Sacred Valley.
Board your flight to Cusco and continue on to Peru's Sacred Valley. Visit the colourful market in the town of Chinchero. Afterwards, meet Nilda Callañaupa Alvarez, a Quechua scholar, president of the Center for Traditional Textiles of Cusco, and a recipient of a TreadRight Foundation grant. Later in the afternoon, check in to your luxurious spa resort.
Exploring the Sacred Valley.
In the town of Maras, you'll meet with a local family who will explain ancient salt mining techniques. Visit the spectacular terraced salt pans and where you will have a chance to participate in the ancient tradition. The salt pans, dating back to Inca times, have been passed down through families for generations and today are maintained in much the same way as they were long ago. Dine the local way as you feast on a typical Peruvian meal, a caja china lunch of fresh vegetables and slow-roasted meats, all cooked in a wooden box. After lunch, witness a private Pachamama Ceremony, or 'Payment to the Earth,' as a local shaman performs the centuries-old ritual.
Journey to Machu Picchu.
Today you'll visit the town of Ollantaytambo, a national archeological site set on the Urubamba River. Afterwards, board your first-class seats on the Vistadome train for your scenic journey to Machu Picchu village. Enjoy lunch at your rejuvenating resort followed by a guided exploration of its nature trails and fascinating cloud forest ecosystem. One for tea lovers, the afternoon will be spent discovering a working tea plantation, before viewing the world's largest private collection of indigenous orchids. In the evening, learn how to blend the perfect pisco sour before enjoying dinner with wine at the hotel.
Mysterious Machu Picchu.
No trip to Peru would be complete without visiting the famous UNESCO World Heritage Site of Machu Pichu. With Luxury Gold, you’ll arrive at this striking archeological site before the crowds of day-trippers. Meet your Local Expert for a guided exploration through the enigmatic Lost City of the Incas, rediscovered only 100 years ago by archaeologist Hiram Bingham. See the great Temple of the Sun, Sacred Plaza and the Intihuatana, believed to be an ancient sun clock. In the afternoon, enjoy time to explore Machu Picchu at your leisure or return to your resort. After a full day of discovery, enjoy a delicious dinner with wine, where you can share stories of your day with fellow guests in the serenity of your tranquil hotel.
Return to Cusco.
Bid goodbye to Machu Picchu as you travel through the Sacred Valley by train en route to Cusco. Stop for a traditional Highlight Lunch and savour a sumptuous Pachamanca Feast of Peruvian cuisine cooked underground. After lunch, get up-close to llamas, guanacos, alpacas and even the rare vicuñas before arriving at your hotel in Cusco, steps away from the Plaza de Armas.
Join your Local Expert to explore Cusco, where you'll check out the Temple of the Sun at Korikancha, the cathedral and the citadel of Sacsayhuaman. Shop like the locals do at the San Blas artisan centre. Enjoy free time for shopping on the Plaza de Armas, where you can stock up on a few souvenirs. In the evening, enjoy a candlelit Highlight Dinner with wine at one of the city’s most prominent culinary scenes, the MAP Restaurant in the central Museum of Pre-Colombian Art.
Lake Region of Peru.
Board your included flight to Juliaca and continue to Puno, nestled along the majestic shores of Lake Titicaca. The peaceful, lakeside Libertador Hotel on Esteves Island is your home away from home.
The Floating Islands of Lake Titicaca.

Trip: I saw one or two too many “fortresses”.
Service: The Travel Guide is what you did well - Robert Campos. No amount of luxury would have been so good without his skill and grace in making it happen.

Trip: Everyday was a new adventure. All of the places we visited were so interesting; I can't imagine leaving any of them out. The surprise for me was Cusco; it was my favorite although I can't put my finger on why. I would love to visit there again. The local experts who accompanied us were so knowledgeable about their areas; I tried to soak in as much as I could!
Service: This was one of the best trips I have taken. Our tour guide, Roberto Campos, was wonderful: always prepared, informative, with so much enthusiasm for what he was doing. Every day was a history lesson; I learned so much about Peru and would love to return.

Trip: I would like to give 4.5 stars instead or 4 or 5 stars. The activities were great and provided an interesting and promising overview of Peru. However, dinners usually lasted for 3 hours, food was good, but service was slow for group of 40, whether or not we pre-ordered from the menu. By the time we returned to the hotel room, we had to unpack or repack for next day, and shower before going to bed. I did not get sufficient sleep. Hotel at base of Machu Picchu, Incaterra, had mosquitoes, live and dead in the bathroom, and I was awaken twice at night due to mosquitoes bites that caused severe itchiness.
Service: Robert (Roberto) Campos, our Travel Concierge, was exemplary. He was always steps ahead, physically and mentally, anticipating the needs and wants from 40 tourists in our group. He was personal and attentive to changes, as needed from time to time due to altitude sickness, personal health issues and other commitments. He was simply indispensable and worked extremely hard for Luxury Gold and the tourists. He monitored and worked effectively with local guides. He spoke excellent English.

Trip: The order of the locations we visited were well plan with regard to attitude adjustment. The hotels were first class. The local tour guides were knowledgeable of their towns. They are all so proud of the local culture & history. And it shows and rub to the travelers. Lake Titicaca was my favorite. The only local visit I would recommend to eliminate is the coffee-making visit in Lima. The travelers were more the Starbucks-type - sweet, hot coffee. They didn't have the patience to wait for the cold coffee to drip, drip, drip, .....
Service: The tour concierge, Robert, was the best. He planned & took care of everything ahead and make sure every one is taken care. He went the extra mile to satisfy every reasonable request.

Trip: We got to see the natural beauty of the country, experience the culture and food, learn about pre-Incas and Incas culture, architecture and amazing history of Peru.
Service: The itinerary was well paced, the tour director was knowledgeable and passionate about his country, all logistics were organized and played out well. This tour could have been a bit strenuous with altitude and lots of walking/hiking, but it went well.

Trip: Well thought out, and very diverse.
Service: Our tour director, Roberto Campos was, by far, the most organized director that I have ever dealt with on any trip that I have taken with Luxury Gold, Insight, or any other tour company. He was "on top of every detail" from quick registration at each hotel, detailed preparations for each experience, and even pictorials of possible menu selections. Personally, he helped me on at least three occasions - lost glasses, ATM and money conversion, and directions to a pharmacy that I would never have been able to find on my own. He was always available to "smooth the way", but never intrusive. This was a trip that we had been waiting to take for several years, and Roberto made it an exciting, educational, and personally unique adventure. He loves his country, its people, and traditions and in shows in every aspect of the visit to Peru.
