Trip: Excellent organisation, amazing experiences, very good tour director and guides, good hotels and a fun group of fellow travellers.
Service: Excellent organisation, hotels (except one), tour director, tours and experiences. Probably one too many carpet factories but we weren't there to buy a carpet! So good not having to organise anything except visa for India. We hope that India and Kathmandu can sort the pollution problem sooner rather than later! We advise that face masks would be a good item to take, but the overall experience was just so great

Trip: I thought we saw too many temples and did not have enough free time. We also did not have enough cultural experiences with regards to shows or dinners. We spent too much time on travel such as 1 whole day to fly to Nepal. You could have offered us a nice dinner/show to make up for it.
Service: We enjoyed the Hotels and the travel accommodations. We enjoyed the sights and the meals.

Trip: There was one day where the airplane connections changed from the originally advertised route to a much longer route which took up the whole travel day.
Service: Being what I would consider an exotic location with the culture being vastly different than my own, Luxury Gold did a wonderful job in providing tour guides which helped us understand each location and customs better. The hotels were spectacular which included meals with local cuisine but also western food for those who are not so adventurous.

Trip: Explained in the service section
Service: I have written an email to Mr Binoy in Delhi via my travel agent. If one reads all the remarks in your booklet "Insight Luxury Gold" unfortunately Insights Luxury Gold "Classical India with Nepal" does not quite qualify for this booklet. Whilst the hotels & our tour guide did it was the section Delhi to Katmandu to Varanasi that unfortunately were both third world cities that took them outside the luxury gold aspect. All 6 Relaxed starts just did not exist. Day 6 in Varanasi said"Start the day relaxing & taking advantage of some of the facilities in your hotel before being transferred to the airport etc etc. I don't consider getting a wake up call at 4.30am & departing the hotel without the Luxury Gold buffet breakfast instead we got a boxed breakfast with a banana, orange drink & a rice cake or bread roll. Spending 6 hours at Delhi airport waiting for the flight to Varanasi did not help & by the time we arrived at the hotel we missed the Hindu Aarti Ceremony. A total waste of a day that cost on average $519.

Trip: I loved Varanasi, Kathmandu and Khajuraho and the many walks Rajeev took us on, as well as the rickshaw and tuk-tuk rides.
Service: Rajeev Kapoor, our Tour Concierge, was responsive to our needs and always tried to support our experience of India and Nepal. I also enjoyed all of the local guides, their knowledge of the history and stories of their areas and their friendliness. The hotels were, in general, very good although it was difficult in some cases to just leave the hotel and go for a stroll. The Jaipur hotel comes to mind. I would not class this trip as Luxury/Gold, though. That would require a level of elegance and carefreeness that was not there. The buses, for instance, often had no curtains and stains on the seats. Even in India, the buses should have had washrooms for Luxury/Gold status. The restaurant for our last meal had no red wine. Odd. It was a good trip, but definitely not Luxury/Gold.

Trip: Our guide concierge Devender Singh Rathore was outstanding. He enhanced our trip very much - with his explanations of what we were seeing, his insights, his jokes, his laugh, his patience. The local guides as well were very good. The itinerary was jam packed - I have to say that the Insight itinerary guide was somewhat misleading - few relaxed starts as had been advertised - but well worth the early starts every day to fit everything in. I would definitely recommend the Marriott Spa & Resort in Jaipur be added as one of the hotels to replace the Fairmont. It was an excellent way to finish off the trip. I was impressed that Insight rose to the occasion and moved us to the Marriott Resort after learning about the water problems at the Fairmont.
