  • 29 July, 2018

Trip: We loved the itinerary, long travelling days on the bus were minimal. We felt that perhaps more extra optional activities should be offered. Weather conditions prevented some members of our trip experiencing their nominated excursions.

Service: Our Luxury Gold trip was all arranged through our Travel Agent so their customer service was not relevant

  • 15 July, 2018

Trip: With the exception of Lake Louise on/off issue we have been left with many fond memories from a great holiday.

Service: Our tour director (Ben) and driver (Owen) were excellent by adding to the overall tour experience. Thanks guys for making the trip memorable. The Lake Louise stay off/on issue was unprofessional though the rest of the tour was perfectly executed.

  • 14 July, 2018

Trip: It took us to all the places we wanted to see.

Service: The whole trip was well organised and of exceptional quality. Both the driver and the Concierge were first class.

  • 09 July, 2018

Trip: See notes on previous page.

Service: Overall the experience was fantastic and I would certainly recommend Luxury Gold to other interested parties, however, I would ensure they understood that the Coach (Bus) portion of the journey was not exactly what we expected from a product with a Luxury Gold title! The Rocky Mountaineer and Holland America Cruise were impeccable and very well organised! Our only observation was the overnight stopover for the train in Canloops, (interesting place, not!) but we do understand that locations offering sufficient accommodation and services would be very limited on this route, so this is certainly not a complaint! Back to the coach portion of the journey, we could not fault the accommodation, it was top notch and the locations were amazing. Our coach driver Steve was also fantastic at his trade and could not be faulted. The never ending scenery and the locations we visited were perfect! Our concerns were with the early starts we had to endure at a number of locations, particularly when "relaxed starts" are boldly stated in the marketing material! Our tour director was another cause for complaint, with much of the commentary covering her own experiences and not enough on the incredible views and history of the terrain we were constantly passing through. During the evening meals that were included, we were limited to one alcoholic drink per person, a little disappointing given that a large percentage of the group didn't drink alcohol at all. The dining experiences were overall very good and the establishments were high end, but this created another issue when we were forced to purchase additional drinks, as the prices were also high end! Our final complaint was with the guided walking tour of the town of Whistler. Having to force our way through crowds of people following a guide is not something we expected, or enjoyed on a Luxury Gold experience. The issues mentioned were really only minor and we did get a lot of laughs out of anything that we thought was not quite up to standard, but I must say that not everyone is as easily amused as our group!

Trip: Good range of activities and plenty of great things packed into the time along with enough free time to personalise the holiday.

Service: Every comfort was taken care of. The bus was spacious and comfortable, the tour guide knowledgeable and personable. Accommodations were outstanding.

  • 30 June, 2018

Trip: Amazing amazing. Ship was luxurious, well appointed and food and service first class. A bit too pushy trying to sell things on board, tours expensive. But in general, excellent.

Service: Very good trip, well organised, great travelling concierge who had such good knowledge and made the trip easy for us.

  • 27 June, 2018

Trip: I would give 10 stars to this guided holiday if it were possible. The itinerary had so much more to it than we realised or expected, with the addition of the little surprise touches. We were kept informed throughout the journey and given the opportunity to partake in both the great organised activities, as well as lots of free time to get the real feel of our surroundings in each of our overnight stops.

Service: Let's begin by saying our trip was very well organised. We hardly had to ask any questions, all answers were given even before we thought to ask them. Our tour guide, Karen Frey, was a wealth of knowledge throughout our coach trip in West Canada. Karen portrayed to us her passion for this area and let us into lots of local knowledge, a fantastic host. Our coach driver, Owen, was an exceptional person too. A capable, safe and efficient driver and we did not once have any doubts about his driving ability. Even his stop so we could witness a juvenile grizzly bear was done with great precision. Owen's manners were impeccable and covered everything for us, from water on the bus, to helping us up and down the coach steps and looking after our luggage. Our accommodation was also first class as were the activities we experienced through Luxury Gold.
